Designing a medical facility that anchors a neighbourhood precinct

Raffles Holland V is a specialist medical centre located at the intersection of Holland Avenue and Holland Road — one of the most established lifestyle precincts in Singapore. When Raffles Medical Group commissioned the architectural design, the brief called for a building that would meet contemporary healthcare standards while respecting the character of Holland Village.

The design positions the medical centre as a neighbourhood building first. The scale and massing defer to the low-rise context. The street-facing facade engages the pavement with a generous drop-off and landscaped setback, while upper floors are articulated to reduce visual bulk.

Inside, the planning prioritises patient flow and clinical efficiency. Departments are organised for intuitive wayfinding, with clear separation between public circulation and back-of-house operations.

Raffles Holland V now operates as both a healthcare facility and a civic presence. The building delivers the operational performance Raffles Medical requires while sitting comfortably within one of Singapore's most carefully watched neighbourhood settings.
